Nathan Street, Minister of Music

Nathan is in his thirteenth year as a minister of music and in his sixth year of music ministry at Randleman Church of God. He graduated magna cum laude with university honors from Wingate University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Music Education (BME) degree. In 2004 he graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a Masters of Music (MM) degree. He is currently working toward a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in music education with a research emphasis on how music affects the brain and its role in Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences. A former high school band director, choral director, and orchestra director, Nathan now also works as the Arts Education Curriculum Specialist for Guilford County Schools in Greensboro, NC where he supervises all music, visual art, dance, and theater programs in 120 schools.

He is a member of several professional organizations that include MENC: The National Association for Music Education, NCMEA: North Carolina Music Educators Association, NEA: National Education Association, NCAE: North Carolina Association of Educators, NCSME: National Council of Supervisors of Music Education, member of the Education Committee for the High Point Area Arts Council, and member of the Board of Directors for the United Arts Council of Greater Greensboro. He continues to work as a clinician for bands, orchestras, and choirs in the state and region as well as a national adjudicator for Music in the Parks, Inc and other entities. Nathan is married to Shannon Street and resides in Asheboro, NC. They have two cats: “Sam” and “Delilah.”
